About Our Team
Hance Law Group, PC
We founded Hance Law Group, PC with one goal in mind: To protect clients' priorities during the most stressful times in their lives, which generally include decreasing the emotional and financial damage which occurs in many divorces.
Specializing in family law, we have served the Dallas area for almost 40 years. We focus on high net worth and complicated divorce, but we handle all family law matters as needed.
Our results might speak for themselves, but we firmly believe in our core foundation of integrity both in and out of the courtroom. We take pride in offering only the best, honest, and most productive legal counsel – because we believe in being transparent with our clients, Judges, and all others we come into contact with.
We strive to uphold:
- Integrity with You. You can rely on us to give you straightforward advice, even if it's not good news. With Hance Law Group, PC, you won't spend substantial time and money pursuing something you'll never receive.
- Integrity with Judges. Judges rely on us to be straight with them and know our attorneys don't lie, twist facts, or misinterpret the law. They listen closely to what we say because we've never given them any reason to doubt our integrity.
- Integrity with Opposing Counsel. Even when you're facing a highly contested divorce, we provide sound legal negotiations for the benefit of all. Our integrity often stands out among others involved in your case, and even your spouse or opposing counsel look to us for level-headed advice. This makes communication easier, helping the process proceed smoothly while reducing fees and animosity.
If you are looking for a family law firm who is honest, compassionate, and respected, look no further than the attorneys at Hance Law Group, PC. By educating our clients, guiding their decisions, and ceaselessly advocating for their interests, we strive to make them feel comfortable and confident. At Hance Law Group, PC, we are positive and hopeful people by nature. We serve our clients best when we achieve settlements that allow you to embrace the future rather than dwell on the past.

What Can I Expect from Hance Law Group, PC?
Hance Law Group, PC uses a sophisticated case management system that allows us to make sure we do exactly what needs to be done when it needs to be done for our clients. This consists of software designed for our attorneys to manage cases (including individual online client folders, which organize appointments, deadlines, tasks, phone logs, and email), digital filing systems for all of your essential documents, and timelines created specifically for your matter to meet your goals.
These systems help us be prepared for whatever may occur during your matter, be more pro-active in resolving your case and be much more efficient, which ultimately saves you money and time and provides a much better result.
We also utilize a value billing model for pricing. Most lawyers bill only by the hour. In other words, clients pay for the time the lawyer spends on the work, rather than paying for a project or specific task. Although it has been the primary method of billing for legal services for many years, hourly billing frequently causes tension and distrust between the lawyer and the client. This can especially be the case with divorce since unknown factors can add time, and hence, cost, to the settlement.
Recognizing that clients are focused on getting a task completed and would like it to be done at a reasonable price in a fair amount of time, some lawyers have moved to more "value-based" billing. The lawyer and client agree that the lawyer will perform a particular task for a specific fee, which the client will pay. If the agreed-upon fee "feels fair" to both sides, then it doesn't matter what the billable hours would have been. Both parties have received the benefit of the bargain they negotiated, and both knew what they would pay and what would be received.
This kind of value billing is rarely done in divorce or family law matters because they are generally unpredictable-either the client, either lawyer, the family of either client or other "shadow advisors" can cause a divorce to go in any number of unexpected and time-consuming, directions. However, Hance Law Group, PC, is among a small number of progressive family lawyers around the country, offering value pricing where possible. It assures clients that the concerns most important to them will be protected without worrying about the time and costs involved, as with hourly billing.
